There has recently been a change to our 7th – 12th grade Religious Education classes. All students K-12th grade will now be meeting for classes in the Activity Center from 10:45 am to 12:15 pm on Sundays. The hope was that this combined schedule would cut down on driving time for those parents with students in both Elementary and Jr/Sr High School classes. Thank you for your understanding. Religious Education classes are held from September through April each year.
See the Youth Group page for information on our Youth Group program.
For information on Religious Education for Junior/Senior High School, contact Terri Gervais, the Director of Religious Education 7th - 12th.
Before Christ was put to death on the cross, He promised his disciples that He would send His Spirit to comfort and strengthen them. To that end, the Holy Spirit was poured out on them forty days after His Resurrection on Pentecost. The Sacrament of Confirmation is our Pentecost. When we are confirmed, we receive the Holy Spirit through anointing with oil and the laying on of hands by the bishop. When we receive the sacred seal of anointing of the holy oil, we show that we belong to God and become part of the priesthood of believers, witnesses to Christ and heirs to His throne.
Candidates for the St. Francis de Sales Confirmation program will be in their first year of high school and must have attended a full year of religious education classes prior to beginning preparation for the sacrament, either here or at another Catholic Parish. These students are expected to continue participation in their current level of religious education; will be required to participate in a pre-Confirmation retreat and must devote service time to our parish.
For information on the Confirmation Program, contact the Director of Religious Education 7th - 12th.
Is God calling you to Teach?
Religious Education Teachers are always needed! Please pray about the possibility that God may be calling you to teach our youth. No experience is necessary and all materials and training are provided. All you need is a love for God and the desire to help the Church grow. Our teachers teach students from pre-k through high school seniors. If God is calling you to teach, please contact the one of the Religious Education directors.
